A patent from Sony Interactive has surfaced online that appears to show images of the new PS5 controller. This is a solid year before PS5 Holiday release window of 2020.
The design sketches were published on the Japanese patent office on Monday. While no official designation was given for the controller as the DualShock 5 in the patent. The images do corroborate rumors of the design for the next generation DualShock controller.
The new patent the potential DualShock controller increases the size of the triggers and sticks, adds a USB port where the microphone jack currently is, removes the light bar, appears to round out the shape of the controller, and a microphone that appears to wrap around the controller’s undercarriage.
At the end of the day we do not know if this is a patent for a improved DualShock 4 controller. Going a la Microsoft with the Xbox Elite controller. So, we have to wait and see how it all develops in the end.
What do you think about Sony Interactive new potential design changes for the DualShock controller? Do you have any design ideas for the new controller? Let me know in the comments below.
