Recently, Manticore Arms has announced a new suppressor system for the CZ Scorpion Evo 3. Manticore calls the new suppressor system Venom. The Venom suppressor system is integrated into a replacement handguard for the Scorpion Evo. The Venom suppressor will be manufactured and sold by Rat Worx (Research and Testing Worx) based out of Mount Morris, Illinois.

The Venom suppressor system is designed to be used with CZ Scorpion Evo pistol or SBR’s with factory 7 3/4 inch barrels. The new system is also compatible with the CZ Scorpion Evo Bullpup Kit.

The Venom suppressor is made out of 6061 aluminum and has a mil-spec Type III hard coat anodized finish. The muzzle device that comes with the system is made from stainless steel. The forend length measures 12 inches and the complete Venom system weighs in at 2 lbs.

The Venom suppressor/handguards feature a top Picatinny rail, integrated QD swing swivel socket, with M-Lok on both sides and bottom. A nice design touch added to the Venom system is that you don’t have to remove any accessories attached to the M-Lok rails. The removal of the suppressor core does not require you to remove the handguard.  Venom’s suppressor core can be easily removed for cleaning or if you need to transport your Scorpion Evo without the suppressor.

Installing, the Venom suppressor system seems straight forward. First, you would need to remove the factory CZ handguards and muzzle device. From there you would install the mounting block, new muzzle device, and handguard. Finally, you would slide in the suppressor core and secure in place with 8 set screws.

The biggest question is how hot will those handguards get since they house the suppressor?

Manticore addressed this concern in their press release saying: “The larger amount of overall material, larger surface area, and approximately 2.7 times larger internal volume than a typical 9mm suppressor allows the Venom to stay cool over long strings of fire. In testing the suppressor can still be comfortably held even after rapid fire of over 100+ rounds in rapid succession and can be fired all day long at a typical firing pace.”

The CZ Scorpion Evo Venom Suppressor system comes in at an MSRP of $449.

What do you think of the Manticore Arms Venom Suppressor System? Would you buy it for your Scorpion Evo? Let me know in the comments below.
