The Department of Defense has selected FN And Colt To Compete For Foreign Military Contracts to Produce M16A4s
Recently, the DoD has solicited both FN and Colt to compete for foreign military contracts to produce M16A4s. The DoD foreign contract is worth up to $383 million dollars. The M16A4s would be produced for U.S. Allied Nations such as Iraq, Lebanon, and Nepal. Estimated completion date for the foreign contract is April 2025.
Springfield Armory adds to The Saint lineup with the powerful Saint pistol chambered in .308. The Saint chambered in .308 will feature the same length 10.3” barrel as the 5.56 version of The Saint pistol.

Recently, Accuracy International (AI) announced their two new rifle models: the AX MKIII and AX 50 ELR rifles. The new AX MKIII evolved from the AI’s multi-caliber AXMC rifle. On Tuesday, Trijicon announced the selection of Trijicon VCOG (Variable Combat Optic Gunsight) as the Marine Corps’ Squad Combat Optic or SCO. Trijicon was awarded the $64 million dollar contract for the SCO. The SCO will be replacing Trijicon’s ACOG and Trijicon’s SDO that are currently in use in the Marine Corps.

On Monday, FN has announced the release of the SCAR 20S chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. 6.5 Creedmoor continues to gain traction and popularity since being introduced over 13 years ago. FN is banking on SOCOM support and adoption of 6.5 creedmoor in the MK220 SSR, as the catalyst for SCAR 20S being chambered in 6.5.
Sharps Rifle Company has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Bankruptcy documents where filed with the Wyoming District U.S. Bankruptcy court on December 31st of 2019. The bankruptcy filings by Sharps shows that the company had been in financial distress for sometime and unable to pay back debts and loans.
